THE KIDNAP
Bursts of flame. Cries of pain.
Thundering of hooves.
People running for their lives.
Some too scared to move.
Vogor’s armor, blackened bronze.
Helmet like a skull.
Sword arm thrashing, smashing wood.
Blade once sharp, now dull.
Vogor’s horse, with brutish force,
Strode up the wooden stair,
With Vogor yelling: “Faster! Faster!
That girl! I know she’s there!”
BarSimon rushed across the room,
And tried to grab the Graf.
His hands broke free, to Vogor’s glee,
Who raised his sword and laughed.
The Knight could see BarSimon’s plight,
And parried with his sword
And stopped the path drawn by the Graf,
And saved the brave landlord.
Graf Vogor bayed: “How dare you raise
Your sword to counter me.
I will return, then you will learn
How cruel I can be!”
But Elgrid had no fear at all,
And struck Vogor again.
Then Graf and mare leapt up the stair
And took the Maiden Jane.
