This story is about the life of a child with Down Syndrome that wants to be your friend. Lynn may look different than most children, but has many of the same likes and dislikes. Help your child discover what it means to accept and embrace a relationship with people who are different.
About the Author
Lisa is a mother and a grandmother, and former licensed therapeutic foster parent, who spent years reading to the children in her life. Over these decades, She has not seen a children’s book that deals with the issue of the way society sees and treats people with Down Syndrome. As a mother of a 21-year old daughter with Down Syndrome, she feels compelled to tell her story. Lisa, her husband of 33 years and her daughter live in a quiet neighborhood in Florida. They enjoy spending time together with friends and family. Often times this quiet life is interrupted by the harsh reality of how people react to the way their daughter looks rather than the way she is.
