There are three empty airline bottles of vodka in front of me. I have named them Happy, Dopey, and Sleepy. I'm already anticipating my next Absolut Dwarf when the pilot announces that we have begun the preliminary preparation for our landing. The flight attendant takes the bottles away and looks at me as though I might have a problem. She’s right, of course. I do have a problem but it’s not liquor. It’s my life. I’m amazed that I don’t drink more. The last few years have been rough. So many disappointments: the accident, therapy, Paul’s affair, the divorce, a stalled career, maxed out credit cards and now this. I cross myself like every good Catholic girl was trained to do in moments of true terror. I can’t believe I left a rent-stabilized apartment on West 51st Street in the middle of Manhattan, to take a job as an Art Director at a theme park. 8th Avenue was too touristy for me. How am I going to survive Orlando, Florida? I can see the future and it’s no fairytale ending. I’m going to be a very sad girl at the happiest place on Earth.

About the Book
Frances Fiore is saying good-bye, New York, hello, Central Florida. Her new employer is a theme park bunny named Binger with delusions of Mickey Mouse grandeur. Her landlady is an aging but forever elegant southern belle. There’s an office romance to deal with despite an unresolved feeling or two for her ex-husband and what happened between them. Divorce was hard, but healing will be harder, especially when you’re working full-time in the next happiest place on Earth.
About the Author
Greg Triggs is an improviser and columnist whose writing has regularly appeared in Watermark newspaper and MetroSource magazine. Before that, he cleverly spent twelve years posing as a Disney cast member to learn everything he could about the theme park industry in preparation for this book. Currently, he lives in Harlem and Narrowsburg, New York, with his husband, Matt Nolen, a ceramic sculptor and professor at Pratt Institute. When not writing, Triggs tours with and coproduces the improvisational revue Broadway's Next Hit Musical. In between shows, he works as a freelance writer/director for clients, including the Tribeca Film Festival, the World Science Festival, Walt Disney World, Disney Vacation Club, and Disney Cruise Line. “The Next Happiest Place on Earth” is his first novel.
