Yahweh or the Highway

I have have chosen to write this book not so much as to answer the who,what, where, when, and why's in life, but rather to give the reader an alternative to beating his head against the wall in an attempt to come to terms with some dramatic situation in his life. I've tried to keep the text as straightforward and simple as possible. Anyone attempting to answer life's greater questions such as, the meaning of life itself, would be better aided by referring at this point to the classics in philosophical and theological literature. I make no point in trying to answer questions which the great thinkers themselves spent lifetimes reflecting upon. It is my sole desire to give the reader points to reflect upon, in the hope that this approach might act as a format on which to base some of the suggestions which this book puts forth. Again, I would like to emphasize the fact that this is not a do-it-yourself manual for all the problems which life seems to have. It is a book which is suggestive rather than an instructive in nature and designed to be read one chapter at a time, taking time to reflect between chapters. Ideally, one should spend time discussing the point brought out in each new chapter with another individual. However, if this is not possible I would suggest at least taking a few minutes to pause and reflect on the previous chapter' s content before continuing on to a new chapter. You may simply want to ask yourself if you agree with what you have just read and if so how you might apply it to your own life. In an attempt not to be redundant I use the pronoun he instead of repeatedly writing he/she.

Although many of the illustrations in this book are from my own life, I have tried to include examples from other people's lives when deemed appropriate. Some of these examples are actually composite in form. All names, with the exception of my own and my immediate family members, are fictional.

This book centers on the power of faith. Faith in healing, faith in the power of Jesus Christ in healing, faith in one's ability to control one's mind and thoughts making it possible to focus on the healing powers within one's own physical body. If you do not already have faith in a Higher Power, might I suggest setting aside time each day and concentrating on getting in touch with that Higher Power outside of yourself. References in this book to Jesus Christ and His Father will be fruitless and fall on deaf ears before you tap into the power which St. Thomas Aquinas referred to as, the guiding intelligence. St. Thomas Aquinas used this concept of a guiding intelligence as a proof of God's existence. I personally do not believe that God's existence can be rationally proven. That is where faith and a leap of faith is called for. Whether you have already made that leap of faith or are still searching, only you know. Once you are ready and open for Jesus Christ to enter your life, He will and your life will find its true purpose. As withon most people you may not find that which you are searching for overnight, but with persistence, perseverance and patience that which you seek will be revealed to you. Read this book with an open heart and mind and allow Christ to work a miracle of healing in your life.
