About the Book

When Nona went to Miller Village to settle her Uncle Harrison’s estate, she met Harrison’s secretary, Marian Reilly, who introduced her to the townspeople, and she met Harrison’s friend, Sam Scott, who introduced her the Adirondacks.

She also met with harassment from unknown enemies determined to force her to leave town. Who sent the threatening note? Who called in the false fire alarm? Who ran her car off the road when she was alone in an isolated area?

Nona, who has lived all her life in big cities, is caught up in the history of this small town and the tangle of relationships among people who live in it.

About the Author

When I was seven years old, my Aunt Emma gave me a five year diary with a lock on it. One way or another, I've been writing ever since. The most fun I've had from writing was engendered by an article that appeared in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Like Nona, about whom this book is written, I have spent time in and love St. Louis and the Adirondacks.

Louise D. Hall was born and grew up in upstate New York. She lives in Florida.
