I believe we met
when I first realized
that the breeze of the trees have meaning. . .
I believe we met
when the winds of song
in my soul started singing. . .
I believe we met
when mercy unpacked
and convinced grace to stay. . .
We met, I’m sure,
at the dawning –
when the dark of night turns to light of day. . .
I believe we met
when I passed life’s test –
there is no answer to why. . .
I believe we met
with each teardrop –
we meet whene’er I cry. . .
I believe we met
when fear moved out
and peace decided to dwell. . .
We met, I’m sure,
in the stillness –
in the whisper of "all is well."

Broken Vessel
"Picture this. It’s the day after Christmas, the hustle and bustle of the Season is winding down and you’re alone. Really alone. The sigh you release that you think will bring relief – doesn’t. It brings forth tears. You’re not just alone – you’re lonely. You’re not just lonely – you’re tired. You’re not just tired – you’re broken.
"It seems you’ve run out of energy, out of patience, out of time, out of breath. Reason escapes you and logic just left.
"You wonder – if you are your brother’s keeper, then who will it be that keeps you?"
O, Life!
O, Life,
send me someone who’ll let me once be weak,
who’ll lead the way for me to follow –
lift me up if I should falter,
if I to err, they to alter –
‘tis truly a need, so truly I seek –
O, Life, send me someone
who’ll let me once be weak.
O, Life,
strength is a virtue that no one can deny
but I seek weakness and some ask why –
‘cause there’s strength
in the ability to absorb and recoup,
but like winter to spring I need time to regroup –
to regain my humility, my respect,
to be meek –

this weakness I ask I want only to borrow –
if granted this wisdom I’ll not keep it for long;
just time enough to draw upon its power

About the Book
'My Story--My Way~Living Life Full Circle' is a book that explores, in depth, the series of events that we call life. It recognizes that the choices we make and the paths we trod do make a difference but, in the final analysis, we are who we are.
It is the wish of the author that each reader come to know the essence of who she is; God's child – unique, distinct, and set apart. In addition, the reader will be lured into a better sense of self, encouraged by the honesty and simplicity of the book.
About the Author
Marilyn Dean is a lover of life and poetry and has expressed herself through this medium since early childhood. Marilyn is an empty-nester, having raised two children, most of the time as a single parent. She lives in suburban Chicago, works a nine-to-five and looks forward to being able to travel and to devote more time to her writings and her loved ones. Marilyn’s day-to-day consists not only of life’s expected peaks and valleys, but also of twists and turns, of fast forward and reverse, of falling and flying, of ecstasy and pain, of feast and famine, and of half moons and full circles.
