About the Book
This collection of my most cherished possessions encompasses years of labor, deliberation, and dedication. Because of my experiences, whether triumphs or failures, I have decided to share with you my thoughts, feelings, emotions, and expectations. Hope you enjoy.
About the Author
Franklin V. McQueen was born June 17, 1953 in Bennettsville, South Carolina. One of fifteen children of David and Elizabeth McQueen, he learned early the value of a good education and commitment to family and the community. He graduated from Blenheim High School in 1971 and furthered his education at Devry Institute in Atlanta, Georgia and Benedict College in Columbia, South Carolina where he received a BA in Journalism. McQueen received numerous honors and awards for his poetry and writings while in college. His poetry has since been published in several newspapers and magazines and he has also done recitals on several local television shows. He has appeared in a number of plays and is currently working on his first novel. McQueen's work experience has included Assistant with the National Conference of Black Mayors, Midlands Human Resources Commission, Community Observer Newspaper, Fine Print News Marlboro County Department of Social Services, the Marlboro County Board of Education-Teacher's Aide, and the Department of Corrections.
