Number one character is Danz in mid 30’s, very successful developer, lives in upper class neighborhood with a beautiful wife who is very demanding and spoiled by him. He gives her everything. He is also big on investments, studies karate, multi-talented, lives in Los Angeles but is building a large racing yacht near the harbor area in a very bad neighborhood. The boat is actually being built in an industrial area, but there are a lot of gangs just down the street. At night you can hear the shootings followed by the ghetto bird (helicopter) and screams of the people. Life has no meaning here, for mostly they live day by day.
Things are going along pretty good for the D Man but his little wifey is unhappy. She gets anything she wants, and she’s bored with that. It’s just not enough so she bitches and complains and turns things around so it looks like it’s his fault, but he knows better! Not wanting to, he decides to separate from her. Maybe a little break will bring them closer. All the time he keeps thinking if he can just finish his ship he can take her sailing, and things will get better once they get out to sea.
So instead of moving into another house or apartment, he decides to rough it out and stay on his ship. An uptown businessman is going to try to make it chillin in the hood (ghetto), he has his mind and a strong mentality level, due to his training.
One evening he hears loud music, laughter, and talking. He looks out to see what is going on. It’s the gangsta’s of the hood chillin’ right out front. Two boys, three girls laughing and having a good time, when all of a sudden, they see him! Young Blood jumps out of the car! Most think he’s called Young Blood because he has killed so many young kids. But, in fact, he comes from a long history of gangsta’s. Mom, dad, aunts, uncles, grandpa and grandmas etc--
Anyway, he heads toward the fence fearing nothing, ready to kill on a bet! He has to check out the stranger. He walks toward him thinking, I’ll see if he’s cool or a hoota (cop). He says "What’s up Holms, you got the fire?" Danz says "what" Young Blood says, "I want to turn this dog on fool"! Danz figured it out and lit it up for him. He handed it to Danz to test him. Reluctantly, he took it just to keep the peace. He used to smoke weed in the 60’s and 70’s but quit using any drugs a long time ago.
His main concern is to get these kids away from the yard so the police don’t hassle him and maybe take his boat. He is not supposed to be living in this yard, some kind of city ordinance. He likes to keep low key, almost invisible. So he invites them into his yard. At least the hootta’s can’t see them standing on the street.
After they all get inside he tells them what he is doing. He has to keep low key, it would be disrespectful to hang out in front of his place. And there is a vacant lot next door. They respected his wishes and could relate to it simply because of the way he said it. He told them if they go behind the oil well no one could see you or hear you. They thought it was an excellent idea. Already his genius I.Q. is paying off.
Only a short time later he discovers the kids have a language of their own and is amazed. He thought the gangs come from certain cities, and found out that they broke down to eastside, westside, Nurftown, Southtown and then to the streets. These kids are "L" street gangsta’s and fear nothing. Not afraid to ambush the hoota’s. They all carry gisnacks (guns) and do drive by shootings for kicks at any time. But right now they are amazed at the big ship being built and how it will get from here to the water.
Danz has taken a liking to Sad Girl, the youngest. She is a freak (beautiful) and she is quite sassy. He likes her style, but doesn’t let her know. He’s got to much at stake to get involved with a gang member. He doesn’t want his wife and friends to see him on America’s Most Wanted! When he finally does let her know he is interested in her, he finds out that he is not her type. To her he is a houser (square), she is not impressed with the way he dresses, or his knowledge, or anything about him. She would much rather be with a gang member with a name like killer, trigger, napalm, corrupt sniper, gunner, homicide, awax, slaughter, or hitman, and a reputation to go with it. She is fascinated by this lifestyle. Driving in fancy cars and listening to loud music, driving fast through the hood drinking 40’s, doing drugs, smoking dirty dogs (primos). It’s an every night event all night. They sleep all day, no one works because that’s the farthest thing on their minds. Their main goal is to get high every night and have a good time cruising the hood.
