" A PRAYER TO GOD"
Where do I go from here?
Is it far or is it near.
Help me Lord so I can hear.
I have walked this road alone so much;
Please help me Father to stay in touch.
You are all I have along the way;
Shine Your light on me today.
If You want to know what I’m trying to say.
Oh Lord I have lost my way!
Maybe Lord, You want me to give into You today.
So You can carry me, the rest of the way.
THE MOUNTAINS
Isaiah 2:2-3
How high are the mountains you face today? Can you win the victory over them, by climbing to the top? Or are these mountains a representation of God’s presence; a place for continuous worship and praise to Him? As we read the Bible, the word mountain has two connotations to it, one being a place where God’ presence abides. The other represents trials we are facing in life.
The mountains of the Lord represent the building of faith, trust and love in our life; thus getting us ready for service to the Lord. Climbing these mountains with the Holy Spirit along side of us, is the pleasure of the Lord. The most notable of these types of mountain experiences can be found in [Mathew 17:1-2], Now after days Jesus took Peter, James, and John His brother, brought them up on a high mountain by themselves, and was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and His clothes became as white as the light: Now with an experience like this, no mountain is ever too high or it’s difficult terrain too rugged; for when we reach the top Jesus will be there.
When climbing these mountains our faith, trust, and love will be challenged because of the roughness and height of the mountain. But the prize that we will receive is worthy of the rough climb. I am reminded of [Romans 8:18] where Paul said:
"For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us."
We find in Psalms 68:16 these words:
"Why do you fume with envy, you mountains of many peaks? This is the mountains which God desires to dwell in; Yes, the Lord will dwell in it forever."
Let us all pray:
"God thank You for the mountains in my life:
I know they are there to strengthen my life and commitment to You."
The mountains of the Lord are never meant to weaken us but that we can be victorious in Jesus, climbing to the top to meet Him there.
I have talked about the mountains of the Lord; dwell there so we can be strengthened to face the mountains that Satan will send our way. Satan put mountains in our life to stand against us, now instead of building our faith these mountains are there to destroy our faith. When these mountains are placed before us, we feel hopeless that we will ever see any victory. But in Psalms 97:5 we see, "the mountains melt like wax at the presence of the Lord." God will melt these mountains or through our faith have them removed. In Matthew 17:20 we find how our faith deals with these mountains: "if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, "move from here to there," and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you." Know the difference; the mountains where God dwells, is a place of continuous worship and praise, and the mountains Satan put in our lives are there to defeat our daily walk with God.
"Thank God for the "Mountains of Many Peaks."
