About the Book

While traveling on business, Jim Dulles jogs an unfamiliar course. The morning fog disorients him and Ellen Cramwell, a teacher, who jogs to the scene, rescues him. Over coffee, they establish an instant rapport; later at dinner, their mutual attraction deepens. A sinister episode intervenes to threaten the budding relationship between two lonely people, longing for intimacy. The story unfolds from Ellen's viewpoint, in a test of her instincts for survival, and from Jim's, in a struggle to get her back. Set in today's fast-paced world, the action moves from New England to the Adirondacks, from Pennsylvania to Switzerland. Strong, vital characters confront the twists of fate and love in this novel of mystery and romance.
