This book is first and foremost about hope. It is about hope because wormholes in consciousness are the channels for contact with advanced intelligent lives that are not "out there" in space somewhere, but are right here on Earth. In Christian parlance, wormholes in consciousness are the pathways, the portals, to the kingdom of God, available to anyone who undertakes the mental discipline. More than anything, I want to impress my readers with this idea. This book includes technical things to learn and to comprehend, especially in Part II, but the concept is simple. The hope I am seeking to infuse you with is not passive but an active, scientific hope that can impel you to begin practical work immediately and systematically. I coin the term "scientific hope" to encourage my readers to actively pursue wormholes in consciousness as a logical and natural step forward for them. I use the word scientific in the sense of a "systematic" approach to the task of discovering their wormhole. Scientific hope gives us the freedom to break loose from the trammels of limited, self-centered thinking that binds us to consciousness adolescence. It gives us the freedom to begin to move into the world of consciousness maturity, to "come of age" as spiritual adults, wherein we learn true responsibility and right human relationships. Through an applied systematic (and therefore, scientific) effort in consciousness evolution, humanity matures in consciousness and therefore earns the right of contact with higher order planetary intelligence. This book is different from other New Age works because it presents more than fanciful images and idealistic dreams. It indicates how anyone can apply this knowledge right in his or her individual life with no other guru or teacher than one’s own soul. It shows that the next stage of human evolution is not even more materialism but is truly spiritual and unconstrained by circumstance of birth--that is to say, those who have eyes and can see will lead the next evolutionary step in human consciousness. They will participate in the Grand Experiment toward a science of contact with advanced intelligence right here on Earth, which will fulfill the goals of all religions. These true world servers will lead both science and religion into the new millennium of consciousness. The concept of wormholes in consciousness (WIC) is good news. Although in many ways very simple, it answers numerous, although not all, spiritual questions. WIC theory provides meaning and purpose to individual life by indicating how each person is a part of a greater process and how s/he can participate directly in that process without a change of environment. Indeed, one’s very environment becomes the pedestal for initial work with one’s WIC. WIC provides a practical vision of unity with the human condition. It is connected to science as we understand it. WIC points to where we are all going as a race and clarifies the concepts of right and wrong, good and evil. WIC provides a scientific reference point and an attitude that can enable pioneering members of humanity to work together to seek contact with advanced planetary intelligence. They will leave the Search for Extra-terrestrial Intelligence (SETI) to the concrete scientists as they begin the more realistic process of moving toward a contact of far more practical and immediate benefit to humanity. This last is perhaps the most significant aspect of WIC and the Aquarian Hypothesis. Anyone can now begin to synchronize his/her mental abilities with other members of humanity seeking to contact advanced planetary intelligence. Understanding why this approach will work is fundamental to contact in the first place. WIC shows why past spiritual effort has been only partly successful. It demonstrates the role of great spiritual teachers like Christ, the Buddha, Sri Krishna, Mohammed, etc. as simply messengers from HOPI. It also indicates how some individuals have achieved contact. WIC gives new hope that we are truly not alone, especially on this planet, and offers the opportunity for two great ways of human knowing, science and religion, to come together in the culmination of their search and integrate humanity as never before. WIC therefore extends broad hope to humanity by indicating the essential correctness--albeit incompleteness--of all basic religious systems. WIC demonstrates why humanity has had great saints and mystics. WIC explains that all so-called spiritual impulses originate from the same source and all "messengers of God" come from the same place. Science has laid a foundation for our comprehension of WIC through cosmology and modern physics (chaos theory, quantum theory, particle physics, fractals, string theory, etc.). A basic grasp of modern theoretical physics and cosmology can help us understand the function of consciousness because consciousness and its functions parallel physics in its most subtle aspects--or rather, the world of modern physics replicates the inner world of consciousness. This is why string theory and its counterpart in consciousness will go further in elucidating WIC. String theory’s hypothesis of other dimensions will bring us to a way of thinking that parallels the functions of higher consciousness even more closely. As much as WIC indicates why religions and spirituality spring forth in all cultures and provides the common ground upon which all religion rests, it also shows why the current state of antagonism and separateness is wrong-headed. The Aquarian Hypothesis is that we are evolving toward an awareness that is the equivalent in consciousness of brotherhood and fellowship. It is the consciousness correspondence to Christianity’s "communion of saints." A fusing of minds and hearts into groups on higher mental levels will occur; hate, bigotry, racism – all expressions of separateness - are thus simply contrary to our next evolutionary step. Conversely, WIC indicates why all efforts to work together are rightly based on the future of humanity; they are founded on the essential structure of consciousness and thus essential unity because of common origin. WIC also shows how science and religion can find a real dialogue. Unfortunately, apparently neither science nor religion will take the initiative. WIC demonstrates that when these two aspects of humanity restrict themselves strictly to their areas of expertise, they are behaving in a manner antithetical to WIC, and consequently cannot bring humanity further along in evolution. The Aquarian Hypothesis and WIC illustrate that the next phase or development of human consciousness is that of distributed or group consciousness. As this form of consciousness is new to humanity, the achievement of group consciousness where a conscious group life and awareness will emerge will be tentative. HOPI is advanced life whose globally distributed consciousness includes the entire world. It sees no difference, yet personal identity remains. This is the normal and natural HOPI state of consciousness. Any of humanity’s current distributed consciousness is child-like. This juvenile effort at distributed consciousness will, however, be the bridge between science and religion, the thread that a new class of world servers will follow toward the developing science of contact. This effort will eventually lead science and religion to that goal, and their fusion will occur within the minds of the many pioneering servers who will see that science and religion are only parts of the greater truth that is WIC. About the Book
With a layman’s working knowledge of science, we can begin to understand the laws and rules of higher consciousness. Once terminology no longer gets in our way, we will discover that for thousands of years, there has been HOPI, messengers from HOPI, and teaching about how to contact HOPI. Truly, we are not and never have been alone.
About the Author
Wayne Sterba, a dentist in rural northwest Pennsylvania, describes himself as, “An ordinary person, leading an ordinary life as a widowed parent in an ordinary corner of the world.” Prior to his private practice, Sterba spent 20 years in the U.S. Public Health Service serving the Federal Bureau of Prisons and the Indian Health Service (Seneca Nation of Indians.)
Sterba began his systematic study of the mind almost three decades ago. While enrolled in dental school courses, he struggled with severe depression that lead him to examine his emotional life and thinking process under the guidance of psychiatric medical therapy. Through this lengthy and intense endeavor he developed a deep awakening to the internal life and “gradually discovered the depth, beauty and wonder of that life and how much it pays back the dedication to sincere and strenuous investigation.” In the early eighties, he became a student of Eastern raja yoga while further exploring modern physics and cosmology. The combination led to discovery of a strong sense of correspondences between science and the laws of consciousness. It also directed that path of further work. “I learned that the laws of higher consciousness could only be known through deliberate and intentional work in consciousness,” he says.
While on that path he also sought the role of contemporary spirituality and first encountered an apparent dilemma: It was obvious to him that higher consciousness requires non-attachment to the external world, yet spirituality flourishes through benevolent efforts in everyday existence. Eventually, he became aware that the two were not divergent and explains, “It is only through living in the mundane world correctly that we can move into higher consciousness realms.”
Based on this connection between both ends of the spectrum, Sterba asserts deep appreciation of the laws of higher consciousness as fair and egalitarian. “No matter who we are, where we are, or whatever our life setting, we can begin to attain higher consciousness if we have the right ‘curriculum’ and apply ourselves to that goal,” he says, adding that religious beliefs may strengthen the course for some. “I see that most of the religious traditions I study are founded upon these laws of consciousness even if the corresponding organizations do not recognize nor admit to that.” He asserts that all fundamental teachings of these religions are simply the, “ABC’s of preparation for the subsequent stage in consciousness,” and that through that next stage of consciousness, mankind can come to know the direction and scope of the evolutionary process both individually and collectively. “That pending evolutionary step is group consciousness, the consciousness state of the next higher kingdom in nature – the kingdom of higher consciousness,” he explains.
