About the Book

The primary focus of The Joy of Spiritual Awakening is to suggest some methods to help the reader to experience greater spiritual awareness and to recognize the joy of Spirit in every day life. The path to spiritual awakening and self-transformation is littered with man-made obstacles. There are many temptations to follow a "quick and easy" path to Spiritual awakening and self-transformation. It can be wise to stop scurrying hither and thither in search of "maybe answers" and begin resting in the peace of your own inner guidance.

Here you will find what the author calls Spiritualizing the Senses. ... the marriage of immanence and transcendence of GOD. This is an art of apprehending the Spiritual Source in every outer sensory and inner sensory experience. In every particle of the universe ... God is present! Our five senses provide us with serene beauty from all of our arts and sciences and these are the doorways to an inner-sensory path of spiritual awakening and illumining. Here you will find ways of awakening your spiritual self; how to connect with the spiritual dimension; action steps for spiritual awakening and self -transformation; ways to discover Spirit everywhere; how to reach greater spiritual awareness; and the joys of spiritual awakening.

Here you will find that you already have what you are looking for!

About the Author

Charles Lelly has made the search for spiritual awareness and mystical experience his life long journey. Though raised in a traditional Christian family, he found the need to study beyond those religious boundaries. His university education was directed toward science. He earned a B.S. degree in pharmacy. However, as a Registered Pharmacist he again found the boundaries too narrow and after ten years as retail pharmacist, he again sought out new avenues for his basic interest and went to the Unity School of Ministerial Training and became an ordained Unity Minister in 1968.

He remained at Unity Headquarters as editor of New Magazine, later rising to an executive position. He wrote over one hundred articles for Unity publications that reached a worldwide audience. Unity published The Beautiful Way of Life book that contained many of these articles

During this time, Lelly sought and caught glimpses of the great inner power we all possess. In addition to the Unity teachings, he studied other spiritual and mystical teachings, such as Rosicruianism, Self Realization (Yogananda), Zen Buddism, Sufism, Hinduism, Taoism. He was deeply inspired by the writings of Dr. Walter and Lao Russell.

In l978 Lelly moved to Kentucky to become the senior minister of Unity of Louisville. He is now retired, continuing to write. He continues to study any avenue that brings into balance the nature of spirituality and science.
