About the Book
Lieutenants (j.g.) Jackson ‘Sinker’ Fairbanks, Pauline ‘Tinker’ Bell and Martha ‘Sunshine’ Conklin are students in the U.S. Navy’s F-14 Fighter Replacement Squadron based at NAS Miramar, ‘AFightertown USA.’ These pilots, and friends undergo a grueling training program, endure tragedy and hardship, experience love and denial, face life and death. From the heights of elation to the depths of despair, each, in his or her own way, must face, define and come to terms with The Killer Instinct.
About the Author
Gary M. Watts has been intimately involved in aviation for over thirty-five years. He began his association with airplanes as a smokejumper for the U.S. Forest Service, parachuting into forest fires. Upon graduation from the University of Utah he entered the U.S. Navy and was later designated a Naval Aviator flying the F-8 Crusader. Gary is a decorated pilot, having flown several different fighter aircraft throughout his career, including F-4 Phantoms over Vietnam and F-14 Tomcats; from Miramar, California to Long Island, New York to the Middle East . After twenty years he retired from the Navy and, as a capstone to his career in aviation, went on to fly as a captain for a major U.S. airline. When not at work, Gary spends his time in the mountains of Julian, California. His first novel The Custody of Sha-ash gaz has recently been published and he is currently writing his next novel.
