Don’t Look At Me
Don’t Look at Me
I’m just a born-again player
Who used to win souls for myself
But now I’m a "True Player for real!"
Now that I know the "Truth – For – Real!"
I’m a player for Christ
And my game is to win souls for His Glory
So don’t look at me
When I say I don’t want to go to the club!
Don’t even look me, "Sister", when I say, "I don’t want to make love!"
Because True Love is not something you make!
It comes from accepting Christ into your life
You see, you gotta have Christ on the inside
You MUST be Born Again!
Now when we make a Covenant in marriage
That’s when the real sex begins
So in reality, a TRUE friend wouldn’t ask me to sin
In all actuality
You’re not making love to me
You’re KILLING ME softly!
Because the WAGES of sin is--Death- (Romans 6:23)
And until we make a Covenant in marriage--
Tell me something- How much are you getting paid?
Don’t look at me
I am just blessed with the Gift
To speak life into a situation
To motivate and uplift
Now tell me something,
Don’t look at me--
Who is the real fishermen?
The one who fishes all the time
Or the one who catches?

KILLING ME - Softly
Your look, your voice, your touch, your taste, your smell
All attract the sinful nature of my flesh
Knowing we haven’t been spiritually reconciled back together in marriage
By vows made unto my Heavenly Father
Now leads me to believe that those things which my flesh desires
Would be actually – KILLING ME - Softly
I mean those hips and lips that I love to play with
Are now guarded by a sign that is held by Jesus, which reads
"Don’t touch, taste, or steal the Promise"!!
As a matter of fact
That Promise has already been given
Because sex was created by God
For a predetermined time in the new covenant
To celebrate the com
Yet, I am suffering from the anticipation
Jesus, you’re making me wait
And in the past I made mistakes
But I never knew that it was – KILLING ME - Softly
The lust of the eye
The burning of the flesh
The bad decisions of failing more than one test
The blessings of grace and the power of mercy
Yet this fire inside remains to be thirsty
The lack of knowledge is why people perish
Thank God I didn’t die in ignorance
Because as I read and study His Word
I’ve learned to practice abstinence
The more I study, the more I understand
Why the wages of sin are costly
For I didn’t know when we had sex "outside of the covenant"
That demons were – KILLING ME - Softly!

About the Author
Duane Graham Foster is a professional poet blessed with the God-given gift to express inspirational, motivational, and spiritual spoken words. He shows a passion for poetry and clearly states that because of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, he can do all things. He shows a real desire to help people. He believes that true development and self improvement can be accessed through the Word of God. His soul purpose is to be a living witness and an example of how Christ can reconstruct a lost soul. He also believes by faith, with works, and perseverance, the promises of God can be manifested into reality.
