For them, tomorrow grants a continuation of the tried and true, arriving as planned and dressed for the occasion in yesterday’s familiar garb. They know nothing of faithless sleep, and their fortunate lives radiate with familial adoration, good books, better scotch, easy laughter and shade trees planted by their father’s father. Inexplicable, unexpected tragedy is accepted as something beyond their reasoning and control, and by standing ground against adversity’s torrential currents, they are rewarded over those whose surrender snips heaven’s umbilical cord. Their belief in a better place awaiting grants lives filled with joy and security chronicled in photo albums, birthday candles and blessed sunrises. But no tomorrow is ever so insufferable it cannot be righted by promises from a true heart or so sound it cannot be derailed by the harrowing cries of exhumed deceit. Such fates often run concurrently until an unforeseeable event catapults them into a collision indifferent towards those left forever blind to another day.

Oasis Moon
The story takes place in metropolitan Houston and rural northeast Louisiana. A long-forgotten, youthful misdeed resurfaces to drive characters from those contrasting settings through unexpected, dangerous twists and turns toward a fateful collision. Revenge and greed lead to blackmail and murder, and two reunited lovers don't know what's meant to be while they struggle to survive the storm.
Oasis Moon is a test of the soul’s resilience. How much pain and tragedy can it endure before it falls from heaven’s reach, never again looking up for a helping hand? The book also shows how true love never lets go, despite the consequences.
About the Author
Harlow Blackmon began his
career as a sportswriter during his freshman year of college. Since then, he has traveled throughout the
United States, soaking up background and experiences to enrich his characters
and settings. Along the way, he became
a published poet and playwright. For Oasis Moon, his first novel, he has
called upon the northeast Louisiana countryside where he was born, the major
city (Houston) where he spent many years and the love, honor, betrayal and
repercussions he has witnessed and encountered.
