About the Author
ZaKiYa, born in Brooklyn but citizen of the world, is a self published poet, spoken word artist, dancer and model. While pursuing an A.S. in general business and B.B.A. in information systems from Pace University, she also devotes a great deal of time to volunteer projects at various community-based organizations. As writing is one of her treasured past times, ZaKiYa always walks equipped with pen and notebook to capture a moment's inspiration. In addition, she enjoys listening to various types of music and is inspired by not only people, but also life in general. She considers herself a student of life, a "Queen of all Trades but master of none." ZaKiYa defies limitations. She believes "life is about possibilities and dreams . . . daring yourself to be free and willing. Freedom is not physical, but mental." Love and Truth are the first-born twins of this great unique artist of yesterday, today and tomorrow. She is an artist of varied interests. ZaKiYa resides on a quiet tree-lined street in a brownstone in Brooklyn, New York. She shares her home with two pets; a bird and a cat. Currently, she is working on her second book of poetry and her first collection of short stories. She is also in the planning stages of company "Positive Xpresions."
