About the Book

The novel takes place in Manchester, The Cotswolds, and Wales, and was inspired by our visit to South Wales some years ago. It follows Jeff Harris, as he is released from prison after spending four years there for art theft.

He is immediately contacted by a well dressed stranger who offers him a large sum of money if Jeff will reveal to him the name and whereabouts of the colleague who performed the art-faking. After much hesitation, Jeff complies, and in so doing gets involved in a crime which endangers himself and his best friend, the art faker.

Complicating matters is a Welsh Nationalist group that gets word to the proposed theft of one of the most sacred relics of the Welsh nation. Deadly events ensue . . .
