About the Book

Tennis is more of a skill sport than a physical sport. Nobody is born with these skills. They must be learned and practiced in order to become the reflexes necessary for the required quickness in tennis. This book is a very detailed and comprehensive description of the strokes and strategies needed to become a winning tennis player. The book should be used as a basis for developing the proper tennis reflexes. The book covers both singles and doubles tennis play. It is applicable to all age and skill levels from the beginning player to the advanced player. The book has been written as a textbook for tennis students and is an excellent reference book that can be studied and reviewed again and again in order to learn and maintain the many techniques described.

About the Author

H.C. Byler, Jr. has been teaching tennis for fifteen years. He is an engineer by degree and, throughout his teaching, has always been trying to determine why some things work and other things don't work in tennis. He no longer teaches due to an injured shoulder. Several of his former students have asked him to write down some of what he has been teaching. As a result, he has written this book because of his desire to impart the knowledge that he has accumulated to the younger generation. He has intended it to be used by coaches as a textbook to be studied by their students and thus ease their teaching time.
