About the Book

About Nihon Goshin Aikido

Aikido is about welcoming the energy that the other person is giving to you and re-directing it in order to defend yourself. In Aikido, you learn to use just enough force to protect yourself from an attacker. It is safe to say that you can defend yourself with little harm done to the person that is attacking you, or you can maximize what you do to take out the person for good. But this is up to you at the time, and it will depend on what the person is doing in trying to harm you.

It is at this point that I would like to stress to you that what I am about to show you in this book is not a game, but something that you must take very seriously. The information in this book can do damage to a person that can change your life and the life of your attacker forever. I cannot stress this enough.

So when you practice these techniques, exercise caution when doing these with another person. Compare this to using a baseball bat to defend yourself. While smacking someone with it can hurt them and possibly ward off an attack, swinging it will all of your might could kill your attacker. Just as you are cautious swinging a baseball bat during a game (or practicing any sport), being unaware of safety will only hurt yourself and possibly those around you.

It is with these techniques from Nihon Goshin Aikido that I hope to help you become more confident with defending yourself in a confrontation. You must read and practice what you are holding in your hands. Take a step towards a more confident capability, and you won't be disappointed.

About the Author

Sensei Michael A. Stabile grew up on the streets of the Bronx in New York City. Sensei Stabile had his share of confrontations as many young people did while 1iving in and near gang territory. It was much later in life when Sensei Stabile moved to upstate New York (30 years old) to facilitate his career and family life that he met Sensei Robert B. MacEwen, Jr.

In that many people are set in their ways, Sensei Stabile was at first hesitant on undertaking any official martial art, as he felt he had proved himself on the streets of New York, and did not need formalized training. Through the encouragement of his soon to be wife, Ginger, Sensei Stabile reluctantly undertook the study of Nihon Goshin Aikido. Soon Sensei Stabile gave up his hesitations about formalized training and saw the immense value of being a student of Sensei MacEwen’s.

Over ten years later, and much effort expended, Sensei Stabile has successfully founded his own dojo in Conyers, Georgia, where he trains many students in the art of Nihon Goshin Aikido.
