About the Book

During the opening days of WWII, Hitler ordered the U-boat, U-701 to transfer a secret cargo destined to keep America out of his war in Europe.  Struggling with Jewish persecution by the Nazi Party, Captain Gunthar Schmidt is reluctantly bound by orders to complete his mission, until a fierce battle erupts along the east coast of the United States sending his U-boat to a watery grave.

Forty five years later at the height of the Cold War a new enemy is on the horizon as Communist hard-liners initiate a Military coups against the Soviet Government trying to keep their own country from falling into democracy.  USS Memphis has been ordered by leaders of both super powers to destroy the enemies most advanced submarine now escaping with the U-boats secrets.  They must succeed or the world faces another plunge into the icy depths of Cold War.

It is up to a young NIS Agent Christine Banks to uncover the mystery that has remained hidden from the Americans for so long.  What she discovers is one mans “Leap of Faith” has forever changed the course of the world.  Now it is up to her and the crew of the Memphis to do the same.


About the Author

Bruce T. Skroblus served as an enlisted submariner during the height of the Cold War.  Qualifying on one Ballistic Missile Submarine and three Fast Attack Submarines, he performed numerous deployments during his ten years of service.  During his last tour of duty, MM1/SS Skroblus was assigned as a technical writer for Trident Class Ballistic Missile Submarines where his in-depth knowledge of submarine mechanical systems and operational procedures could be fully utilized.

Currently he is a contractor with United Van Lines and lives with his wife Genger in Fort Worth Texas.  Their son Matthew is attending college and is an Associate Youth Minister in Springfield Missouri.
