About the Book

This novel is about a series of murders and the impact of a dysfunctional upbringing on three brothers in Westchester, New York. The oldest brother, Randy, is a very successful New York City investment banker; Tony, the middle child, is a homicide detective in San Francisco; and Derek, the youngest, is escaping from his past in an obsessive pursuit of success in the world of professional golf in Florida. In golf, "downhill lies" are the most challenging and difficult shots to hit; in life, the cumulative effect of lying inevitably spirals one downhill into moral depravity. The series of apparently sexually related murders of prominent politicians- each taking place in a different major city coincident with the location of a professional golf tournament- forces the brothers together, sweeping them into a vortex of suspicion arising from their nightmarish past.

About the Author

Bob Mulshine has spent over thirty years as an attorney involved in extensive travel and intrigue. He has dealt at the highest corporate levels on issues dealing with various malfeasances. Born in the Bronx, New York, he was one of seven children, experiencing in depth the issues that dig deeply into the dysfunctional aspects of life. He has four grown children, including three sons. From a sport's perspective, he is participating in golf tournaments around the world and is intimately familiar with that environment.

He is uniquely qualified to write on the subjects in this novel. His descriptions of the interaction of a dysfunctional family ring true and are recognizable to most of us. Weaving this into a competitive golf and murder mystery almost forces the reader to see it to its end. The reader recognizes the characters because they exist within most of us.

Throughout his life, he has written on varied subjects, touching mostly on the psychological. This is, his first novel is a culmination of his creative and admittedly eccentric persona.
