About the Book

This book is about some of the author''s favorite backpacking and canoeing outings. These are actual outdoor experiences. He tells about seeing moose and bears and listening to the sounds of wolves and loons. He tells about seeing the stars reflecting on the still water of a remote lake, watching eagles soar, and taking time for some great fishing. Most of the chapters are about adventures with Boy Scouts. Some chapters are about camping with family and friends, to prepare him for future outings with Scouts. Some planning tips, helpful menus, and equipment lists are included. If you are interested in guiding a group into the wilderness, and making the most of the adventure, this book is for you.
