CALLOUSED HANDS SO GENTLE

YOUR HANDS ARE ROUGH AND CALLOUSED
WITH SCARS HERE AND THERE
BUT, WHEN YOURS HANDS TOUCH ME, IT’S
LIKE ANGLES PUSHING AIR.

THE LOVE THAT PASSES THRU TO ME
WHEN YOUR HANDS UPON ME LAY
FILLS MY HEART WITH HAPPINESS
AND IN THAT MOMENT I WANT TO STAY.

ALL THE WORLDS PROBLEMS
YOU SEEM TO RUB AWAY
WITH YOUR CALLOUSED HANDS SO GENTLE
AT THE END OF ANOTHER DAY.

Aching

Aching, aching deep inside
would like to run away and hide
I try to smile and act real gay,
But the hurt inside won't go away.
I need more love, I need more time,
and I pray someday my heart will shine.

TOUGH DAYS

TO SIT AND WAIT, HOPE AND PRAY
FOR JUST ONE WORD FROM YOU TODAY

ALL DAY LONG I THINK OF YOU
ARE YOU THINKING OF ME TOO?

I’M SO LONESOME FOR YOUR TOUCH
I WANT YOU NEAR ME OH! SO MUCH

THE DAYS GO SLOW, JUST CREEPING BY
I DREAM OF YOU, I WONDER WHY

SOMEDAY LIFE WON’T BE SO BAD
YOU’LL BE WITH ME AND I’LL BE GLAD

Broken Heart

How many pieces can a heart broken into?
One hundred maybe one thousand?
Mine broke and somewhere I lost a big piece.
Now there is a big hole in my heart
and it throbs with desire.
Love is the patch, but I can’t find Love.
God do I ask for too much?
