Just Wait
Your sorrow is
incurable
So you seem to feel
Just wait on the Lord
Be quiet and be still.
For as the sun rises
At the beginning of the day
God will restore you
In his own time and way.
No sorrow is so
large
That the Lord cannot heal.

Falling Apart
Falling apart
So it seems
Much too tired
To do, most anything.
Feeling sad
Feeling blue
Feelings, feelings
What must I do?
Motivation

Rather than keeping a journal, Melva Merritt has written poetry all of her life to chronicle the experiences of the people around her. She has published poems with the Duke University’s Cultural Center and has written articles on woman’s issues for The Real Orange newspaper. She is a lifetime resident of North Carolina and this is her first book of Poetry.
