About the Book

Man Who Eats Reeds, Shaman of the Katchka People, is under the sway of the Old Ones, ancient enemies of mankind He is banished from the tribe because of his terrible crimes against its children. Fleeing the tribe's wrath, he is trapped for millennia in a place of torture where he is transformed into the instrument of the Old One's revenge and the means of their triumphant return.

Now, the time is the present, and the thing that was Man Who Eats Reeds has been released from its prison. The earth shakes and bums while a tiny band of unlikely heroes makes its way across a dying landscape with terror looming on every side.

Mankind's time grows short, and it's only hope is... Katchka Magic.

Katchka Magic is an action packed adventure in which the tension builds from the first page and doesn't let up to the thoroughly satisfying conclusion, blending elements of Native American religion and Catholicism along the way. The result is a number of very entertaining twists on classic themes that will make this book one hard to put down.

About the Author

Telmage Clem was born on the bank of the Chesapeake Bay, the son of a Navy family, and spent his childhood moving from place to place, living in such wildly varying locales as Yohahama, Japan and Keflavik, Iceland. The family moved to Indiana upon his father's retirement from the navy, and he has resided there since. He has lived with his wife, Judy, In Bloomington for 29 years. He has one daughter, two granddaughters, and at the time of this printing, a grandson is on the way.

He says, “Sometimes. I feel like I've lived a series of short lives instead of one long continuous one. The experiences I've had in each place I've lived have been that different. For example, I've gone to school in everything from a real two room schoolhouse complete with a hand rung bell and outhouses to a world class university. (Indiana University)Those adventures have given me a deep well of memories and characters to draw from in my writing.”
