Determination
Blood flows through my veins
I don’t feel the same
The beast that lives within me
Determination is his name
He inhales and exhales
As he takes a deep breath
Draining me of my energy
Until there isn’t anything left
I’m tremendously tired
I need rest
Determination is relentless
Always requesting my best
Invisible, without any form
Yet, it drives me above and beyond
What a feeling of relief
When I complete my goal
Determination surpasses the body
It comes from the soul

Heart.” These words express exactly how
I feel about poetry. All of my poems
are based upon the inspiration of my life’s environment. If the public appreciate true poetry, not

single poem.

About the Author
Born on Nov. 6, 1965 in Shreveport, LA graduated
from Mansfield High School in Mansfield, LA class of 1983. He has always been inspired by poetry and
writes as a hobby. Earl currently
resides in Dallas, Texas where he writes poetry for youth programs as well as
for individuals.
