MINTO                  

            Moving from Allentown, Pennsylvania to Norwalk, Connecticut was just as exciting to Minto as when he was a member of the Boy Scouts of America for almost four years.  It could have been a dream come true for him, but because he was placed into adoption, he had to find new schoolmates.  Not a hard thing to do for Minto, who considered himself a ladies man and a very sociable individual.  He was a rapid speaker.  Minto carried himself so swift that he talked himself into hanging with a herd of youths that ran crazily in the streets of Norwalk.  He fashioned a slick smile and spoke in keeping with his appearance.

            Several years flowed by, and Minto graduated from high school.  He briefly attended Housatonic Community College and Norwalk Technical Community College where he studied child psychology.  Concurrent with these successful ventures ¾ in their shadows ¾ Minto lived a double life.  One consisted of educational growth and development, and the other involved hot-ass criminal activity like marijuana sales to anyone who wanted it.  Nothing else could arouse or stimulate his mind like the smell and movement of marijuana.  His eyes searched for drugs and patrons who labored money throughout the night.

          Although Minto’s illicit drug dealing began around 1994, when he was about twenty-three, law enforcement officers did not really nail him for possession of narcotics until 1997.  “They (police) pulled me out of a car . . . broke my jaw, arm and pinkie finger!” said Minto.  He was tucked away inside Bridgeport Correction Center (Bridgeport CC), prior to his arraignment hearing.  The court had clear evidence against Minto, and he would not have stood a chance to escape harsh punishment of a trial.
