About the Book

The Secret of Petticoat Falls is a funny, sassy, satirical look at life through the inhabitants of this mythical small town located in Ohio about thirty miles from Cleveland.  While one character tries to unravel the mystery surrounding a disastrous train wreck in the town’s past we meet the local grumpy sheriff, bumbling janitors, a rampaging dinosaur, a conservative shotgun-toting judge, parking meter bandits, ‘professional’ criminals, lovely college coeds known as the Top Floor Girls, computer genius Doctor Julie Verne, Australian visitor Professor Alan Smyth, university president Doctor Thackery Smith, and his regular enemy, The Robot.  The story is often hilarious and sometimes thoughtful as we watch the mystery unravel leading to a surprising and outrageous climax.

About the Author

Lloyd R. Jones is an unemployed office clerk who began writing short stories in the summer of 2000 and posting on various Internet sites to practice using his PC while looking for work.  Soon he began receiving fan mail and at the end of 2002 one of his fans set up a Yahoo Web site to archive his stories.  Lloyd decided to turn the subject of his short stories, the fictional Ohio town of Petticoat Falls, into a complete novel.  Another fan generously offered to underwrite the publi-cation of his book, The Secret of Petticoat Falls, by 1stbooks Library.  Lloyd used his knowledge of railroading and affection for classic comedy to create an imaginative and skewed universe.
