About the Book

This is a story about a woman who had the courage to return home in search of answers to a past life of Hell on Earth.  Her quest was blocked by a silent community and a justice system without conscience.  Although there is no moratorium on rape and murder the R.C.M.P. have chosen to do nothing.  The detailed statements given to the R.C.M.P. in 1998/99 just collect dust.

The author provides a first hand insight into how perpetrators of gang rapes and other crimes in small communities can be silent and go about their daily lives as if nothing happened, and how the witnesses of these crimes can live with their conscience and not speak up.  The injustice explodes when victims realise that the institutions who are supposed to protect us don’t really care.  This compounds the initial trauma and sets the stage for more criminal activity.

For victims everywhere who have had their lives stolen and struggle to understand why, this book will help them to know that they are not alone.  To acknowledge the truth and speak out is the only way to change the balance of power and fight these criminals who would keep their victims locked in Hell for eternity.

About the Author

Few survivors of extreme trauma have also the talent to express it.  J.L. lives in Canada’s north country where she struggles to make sense of her past.  She also writes poetry and has published a volume of poetry that reflects her life from the age of thirteen.

Living in a small community where rapists and murderers walk free all around her, she is forced to live with a never ending sense of  fear and injustice.  It is J.L.’s goal to encourage other victims to confront their past and deal with it.
