About the Book

Little Billy Big is a heartwarming story about a kid who was perceived by his peers as a freak of nature, a misfit, an outcast and ultimately someone to be made fun of.  Billy’s heroic, life saving bravery showed everyone, including doubting adults, that he was just as good as anyone else even though he was overly short for his age.

About the Author

The story of Little Billy Big and subsequent stories by Herman C. Russeli are inspired by his many hours of psychiatric social work with adjudicated and emotionally challenged adolescents in the state of Illinois.  His past experience counseling troubled youths and their families include work with the CYO (Chicago Youth Organization) during the 1970’s, the inner city Summer In The Parks youth program in Washington, D.C. in the 70’s and the U.D.I.S. (Unified Delinquency Intervention Services) project in association with the Illinois State Psychiatric Institute also during the 1970’s.

In addition to authoring these inspirational children stories, Mr. Russell also produces inspirational TV vignettes titled “Bootstraps... Pull Yourself Up By Your Own,” which chronicles the lives of successful American inventors, scientists, educators, etc.
