About the Book

Brad Tierney a retired intelligence officer was past his prime.  Little did he know that the president of the United States would playa hand in changing his life by providing him one last hurrah.

A Colombian drug cartel has kidnapped Dr. Ortiz, a Chilean who has always spoken out for democracy.  They plan to deliver him to Castro, who will brainwash him to give a speech in Cuba denouncing democracy.  Tierney is hired to put together a mercenary unit to rescue Dr. Ortiz and in the process destroys the drug operation.

A superb plot filled with exciting action, double crosses, good against evil, and beautiful women... a picture of the beastliness underlying the world of narcotics, a world without scruples, brutality without restraint... John-Patrick Scott passes the highest test of fiction with flying colors.

About the Author

John-Patrick Scott lives in Memphis, Tennessee with his wife, Eva Nell, and their children. He was only twenty-seven when he began his international career in the petroleum and chemical world. Since then he has lived in Europe, Africa and the Middle East. A scholar, soldier and teacher Mr. Scott has written a total of four novels of varied genre:

1. The Last Hurrah-commissioned by Fidel Castro of Cuba the notorious drug merchant, El Zapata of Colombia kidnaps a Chilean diplomat-setting in motion a team of mercenaries commissioned for his rescue.

2. The Walls of Jericho-An electrifying story of a man of immense power and a conspiracy to murder the newly elected president of the United States presented with crisp action, with ambitious characters who know that time if running out.

3.  Jessica-A tragic love story. Eliot Morgan met the love of his life in the marshes of Vietnam. Wounded Jessica mends his broken body only to learn that his injury has made him impotent. While he rebuilds his life she ruins hers but like a magnet their love rekindles while surviving a tumultuous storm at sea.

4. The Legacy-Four generations who pass the values of honor, duty and country from one to another dedicating their collective skills to serving their country as soldiers and statesmen. A novel with its share of idealist, dreamers, villains and just plain dumb relatives.
