You and Me
In time and space,
we begin to see,
what our elders left,
for us were you and me.
When you were born,
you were born with a silver spoon.
When me was born,
all dad could do was croon.
For ol’ times sake,
I sat on daddy’s lap.
Now I have a heart.
Dad made a baby girl.
He said I’d give him no crap,
so I gave it a whirl.
Life that is.
I’d do the best I could,
to show that brother of mine,
just what love meant.
Even if I got a bit out of line,
you were always there brother,
to lend a helping hand.
When I was just a toddler,
from my dad I’d run.
My butt turned pink,
when my dad use to paddle.
He’d use the back of the shoe trick,
it taught me how to waddle.
His morning cereal I’d throw in the sink.
We use to have these food fights,
but he’d do it first.
Our of crime I’d take a bite,
just to have those food fights.
It was a must,
it was quite a sight,
that they should fuss,
over me.
To improve my eyesight,
realizing nothing is free
in this life.
It’s been a struggle to the end.
May all the brothers and sisters,
have fun in this world.
Let life’s forces be with you,
brother you’re all right in my book,
and love you lots
too!

It is my honor and privilege to present such a book as mine on poetry of many different kinds. A poet’s job is to express the words from their heart so it can be shaped and molded into the fine poetry that we read in books.
