Winner Takes All

As Amy was putting on the last shoe, she heard sirens. She turned around to see the Apartment building she was in was in gulfed in flames. She couldn’t believe her eyes. I could’ve died she said to herself. She started to walk back to see, when she spotted Kim, she was talking to one of the firemen. Then she walked to her car and just sat there. Amy thought to herself, this is good. For now she’ll think I’m dead. Amy headed back down the alley. As she walked past a trash can, she heard the whimpering of a puppy come from the can. Amy went over to the can and looked inside there was a little white puppy looking up at her. She pulled the puppy out of the garbage can and cuddled it up to her. It looked up at her and licked her on the face. Amy smiled and said, “I’ve always wanted a dog, but Andy wouldn’t let me have one.” Well you know what I’m keeping you and he can just stuff it. I think I’ll name you Happy. Cuz you make me happy. As Amy walked down the alley the garbage truck came along and picked up the can the puppy was in.

Kim couldn’t believe her luck. Now she won’t have to kill Amy. I’ll just have to figure another way to get that money, she said to herself. She decided to go back to Andy’s, so when he got the call about Amy she could consol him. When she got to Andy’s she let herself in. She called out to Andy; he answered her from his desk. She walked into the room. He looked agitated.

“What’s wrong?” she asked. Pretending she didn’t know.
