About the Book

In this, the second volume in the Soldiers Trilogy, we follow the Martin twins from carefree college days to the working world to the abyss of a world at war.  As a newspaperman in Paris, Tommy Martin finds his love only to lose her as Paris is swallowed up in the Nazi occupation.  The war reunites the twins’ father and an old friend, but they are separated by the German Blitz on London.  The Henderson family is shown on the eve of the attack on Pearl Harbor.


About the Author

John Bacon was born in Baltimore and grew up there.  He graduated from Georgetown University with a Master’s degree in History.  He served in the State Department, foreign service, with seven years overseas duty, after which he worked for the CIA as analyst, writer, editor.  He established the intelligence unit of DEA and worked in it until his retirement from government service.  In retirement, among other things, he established the intelligence unit of the Maryland State Police and worked as an editor at the NASA Space Station Program.  He is married and the father of four sons.  He is a member of The Society of The Cincinnati.
