About the Author
Mishawaka author Jan Hughey is a former columnist for a local weekly newspaper, offering two bi-weekly columns: Cent$ible Idea$, and The Diet Delighter. She also reported news items and wrote the society page for this publication. Jan has been the editor of several newsletters; over one decade she wrote upwards to 100 poems and 72 of her works are published in A C.L.I.P. of Poems. She published that book and Tolerating the Sweet Life (about her life with Type 1 diabetes since 1950) in 14 months. As a speaker, Jan has won several awards in Toastmasters Humorous speech contests, and has presented many seminars as well as being the featured banquet speaker for churches and community groups. She has earned the DTM (Distinguished Toastmaster) distinction which is the highest educational award the organization offers.
