My Imperfections

Readying my voice to speak, I survey all the grief,

I see the shock in every face; I see their disbelief.

They fight a losing battle; so they think - but it’s not true,

I’ll keep their Spirits willing, through my love I’ll re-imbue.

“Brothers, Sisters, all of you have sacrificed and fought;

Keep your wits about you - don’t dare let this be for naught.”

“For eons, ages, time long gone, we’ve always stood our ground,

Arch-angels of the mighty God - for that are we renowned.”

“Should you decide this day is lost and drop your sacred call,

You’ll leave me here to fight alone - and surely I will fall.”

“Each of you is called today the mortal plane to save,

And you are here to send the Reign of Terror to its grave.”

“For if we lose the middle ground and let the world fall,

Heaven’s Gates are next; and if they’re lost, God help us all.”

“The Heathen has been weakened and I go to smite Him down,

And as a trophy I will bring you Terror’s vile crown.”

“So do the duty that your Father summoned you to do,

Hold the Horde at bay until I make it back to you.”

“Fight with Souls ablaze and Holy fury in your eyes,

Unfold your mighty wings and take the battle to the skies!”

“Show them none dare siege upon the Agents of the Light;

Make your Holy radiance their final tortured sight!”

“Now, my soldiers, take up arms and this rebellion quell;

Demonstrate no mercy - send their corpses back to Hell!”

Raising bloodied sword to emphasize my final line,

A battle cry erupts around me - this, a blessed sign.

All of them are capable and willing yet to fight;

All of them will stand, and in this union there is might.

My faith is well-deserving - they will never lose the wall,

It’s time to see where Fate will lead and view what must befall.

I rise to scout positioning and plan the final strike;
