Human emotions are one of the most basic forms of attributes that makes all human beings similar. Emotions are a foundation of humanity and a primary characteristic in life that makes all mankind equal. It sometimes disturbs me to see people focus excessively on tangible characteristics possessed by human beings. There is often excessive focus placed on tangibles such as gender, skin color, race, and culture. These things pale in comparison to the core characteristics of knowledge and emotion that we all share. Tangibles are more obvious but often shallower. Just because we cannot see something does not mean that we should dismiss it from intellect. Being creatures of intellect, it is not difficult to reason that the human attributes of the ability to know, experience emotion, and use our intellect itself are far more important than our superficial attributes. If one does not understand this, there is a strong possibility that the individual is not being true to the self and the ability to reason. The capacity for knowledge, emotions, and intellect are some of the most basic characteristics of human beings. They are innate to us all.
One of the most interesting and mysterious of these characteristics is the emotion of “hope”. Why do we even have it? Out of all the things in life that we could know as human beings, why is it that we are even able to perceive such a thing as hope? What is hope really? It can be described as a desire for perfect happiness. Most of us hope there is a Creator who will lead us to perfect happiness. I have a difficult time believing that our existence has come about simply by chance and that there is no organization to it. I also have a difficult time believing that life has no purpose. That would be like saying that we feel with emotions, we are able to comprehend joy and sorrow, and we have a desire and a hope for happiness, but it is all simply chance. It simply does not make sense. On the contrary, there appears to be elaborate organization that is a result of an ultimate cause.

About the Author
Paul Anthony Imbert is a native of Western NY. He has traveled extensively and possesses a deep interest in seeking answers to the big questions in life. He possesses several degrees including a Masters Degree in the area of Communicative Disorders and Sciences from the State University of New York at Buffalo. He is also a graduate of Niagara University where he studied numerous offerings in the areas of Philosophy and Religion. Mr. Imbert has recently passed the MENSA pretest and has been invited by the MENSA organization to test for membership. His seeking mind, personal challenges as a young man, and concern regarding currently changing social perceptions ignited in him a desire to express his compelling and insightful messages.
