CHAPTER ONE
THE WHITE BRANCH OF FAERY
"When the trees were enchanted
There was hope for the trees,
That they should frustrate the intention
Of the surrounding fires."
~ Câd Goddeu
All beginnings originate in the un-manifest, in Bith, and here, on earth, in the Sphere of Cessair. In Faery glamoury we begin our yearly work at the Time of the Little Sun, the season of Geimhreadh (GEV-rah) -- winter, which begins at Samhain (SOW-an)-- 31 October.
During winter, we rest in the dark womb of the Earth Goddess, we rest in a state of wholeness; last year’s spiritual work has been harvested and we arrive at a new level of understanding.
At the Festival of Samhain, it is time to view the up-coming year, while consulting the Sidhe for a new spiritual direction that will be birthed as the new Winter Solstice sun kisses the land awake at dawn. The power of Cessair is upon the earth and life temporarily dwells in the sacred center of the Holy Trinity (discussed in Chapter Two).
Affirmations, for the new spiritual direction, are made by lighting a candle. The flame becomes symbolic of the personal dedication to the necessary tasks ahead needed that will lead to the fulfillment of the new spiritual identity. If the work is properly planned and executed, the harvest promises abundance.
This book focuses on preparing oneself to become a Guardian or Warrior of the Order of Sacred Tara (OST). As a candidate, you are invited to prepare for one turning of the sacred wheel, thus, walking the path of each season, fully dedicated and focused on the this task. In essence, this book constitutes an year-lone apprenticeship program and, while the following outline might present an ideal starting point, you could begin working on your new spiritual identity, at any time during the year. Faery Glamoury is timeless.
