About the Book

Having migrated from the land of Wales in the early 19th century and settling in Marion, Indiana, this family raised six boys and one daughter. Their growing up years were hilarious, and at family gatherings everyone wanted the stories told over and over. This found me writing the entire account for a keepsake for the family and friends.

Unknowingly, the story reveals the way the Powell families have raised their children to be honest, upright citizens with great integrity. With lessons for folk in all walks of life, this book will be a blessing to all who read it. It is more fun to read than it is to learning things.

"Authenticity is the purpose of this book.  For all the hilarious things in it, it's still a book of real success in raising a family."

About the Author

Delmar Stoddard Powell has lived a full life and has traveled much. His every experience connects, in retrospect, to his growing up American. Whether in the military, business, or in the Gospel ministry, Delmar has always received the greatest personal satisfaction from helping others view his beloved America as he knows her to be. Having visited 17 other countries he is persuaded that America started right and is worth fighting for. Be it on the beaches of Normandy, the marketplace of any industry, a police cruiser as a Law Enforcement Chaplain, a missionary in Africa, or as a pastor directing some poor soul down the right path, it is America that is the earthly bed-rock of nations. He loves her.
