A Gift to Open
The ability to love others is a gift at best,
Some have it and others search on in an endless quest.
It is not always easy to love someone else,
Because to do so you must give of yourself.
Love is forgiveness when you’ve been wronged
And trust in another to stay and be strong.
The center of your soul is laid on the line,
Open and vulnerable to another’s mind.
When love is reciprocated life is grand,
And when it’s not you die where you stand.
The biggest emotion of them all
Can make you or break you, it’s your call.
Don’t tread water, keep casting your line,
One day you’ll see you’ve had love all the time.
