About the Author

Daisy Barnes, Mother, Writer,Entreprenuer, Collector, Manager, People Person.

For me poetry is a means of sharing lives, joy as well as sorrows and other experiences with others.  Sometimes a kind word or a simple touch can make a world of difference to someone thats, probably having a bad day, feel that they have no reason for living, or simply lost their way.

“God Bless America, United We Stand”, will touch a lot of lives and maybe help bring this nation closer together.  This poem was written in memory of 911, the destruction of the World Trade Center.  I’ve been approached by a recording studio asking permission to include this poem on an america album.

I have two poems on Internet, poetry.com.

Life Is Like A Boomerang, also in book, What Tomorrow Holds, and Too Many Tears, in book, The Best Poems And Poets Of 2001, published as a compilation of poetry by the International Library Of Poetry, Owings Md.

For these works I received, Editors Choice Award certificate for outstanding achievement in poetry.

I’ve been told that I have unique writing talent with a artistic vision. Life Is Like A Boomerang, was written as a contest entry, in the search for a cure for Multiple Sclerosis, endorsed by Montel Williams, a donation from each entry was to be used to help research find a cure.

My sister, Mattie wrote these words of encouragement to me for my fifthy birthday.  Dear sis, “Cast Your Faith To The Winds’, follow your dreams, when you include God in your business plans nothing is impossible, may the rest of your life be the best of your life”.  Taking charge of my thoughts, this is my destiny.
