In #89 The Road To Number One, There’s a great closeness on a football team, that is shared among the coaches, and players from Jackson Gap, Dadeville, and Eufaula, Alabama, are ones that I could talk to about any problems.
David Jones, Jessie Foster, Edward Flemming, George Cochran, Wayne Keahey, and Jimmy Burson are the brothers, and father figures, who I miss the most, because of the closeness we had for each other.
In the book, it talks about my football and basketball career at Admiral Moore Middle School. It presents a clear picture of my elementary and high school days, and the effect my teachers, and other people had on my life. It talks about my visit to the Horseshoe Bend National Military Park, and about the War of 1812, where General Andrew Jackson attacked Chief Menawa.
Throughout this book, it talks about personal stories, experiences and the affect football and winning a championship had on many people in the community of Eufaula, Alabama. It speaks about famous Alabamians Henry “Hank” Aaron, Vincent (Bo) Jackson, Rodney Crayton, Brad (B) Ford, and Mary Jo Warren, first African American teacher and principle at Dadeville Elementary School.

About the Book
Ralph Brooks narrates his life story about three cities where high school football is king. In Eufaula, Dadeville, and Jackson Gap where Brooks grew up and went to school football is a way of life. Each high school game is celebrated and gains the same respect as a college game. The playoffs bring recognition, emotions, and a chance to be remembered.
The book’s attractive format includes a large number of captioned black-and- white historical photographs. The pictures, illustrate the effect his teachers, coaches, and best friend had on this author life. The book contains personal interviews with Assistant Coach Edward Flemming, Assistant Coach Jimmy Burson, and Head Coach Wayne Keahey.

About the Author
Ralph Brooks was born in Eufaula, Alabama in 1965. He became a born again Christian at the age of 23. In his freshman year (1980) at Admiral Moore Middle School, he was named best offensive back by Head Coach David Williams and Assistant Coach Thomas Sumpter. In 1981, he was a member of the Eufaula High School Championship Football Team and was a good friend of the belated Head Coach George Cochran.
May 7, 1996 his father passed away, this motivated him to write a book entitled “Day by Day Living with Epilepsy” two editions. In March of 2004, the book was published by AuthorHouse; formerly known as 1st Books. Since then, Mr. Brooks has written a third book called #89 The Road To Number One.
He lives with his wife, Jeanette and their three boys, Brandon, Patrick, and Stephan. When he’s not writing full-time, he devotes his time to his family, the church, business ventures, and charitable causes.
Mr. Brooks is currently enrolled at Faith Theological Seminary & Christian College. He is working on his undergraduate studies until he get his Diploma of Theology.
