About the Book

Have you ever wondered what you would do if you received the news that someone you love or care about was going to die?  For many people, the very thought of losing someone to a terminal illness or a condition due to a sudden accident that leaves an individual close to death, is not only stressful and anxiety-producing, but without warning creates an avalanche of fearful emotions that leave many of us unsure as to what to do.

This book is a simple guide to the reader on how to approach the subject of being there and participating in the end-of-life process for an individual who is about to die.  Loving someone to death is about careful choices to understand and support the dying, and to manage the conflicting, and often times fearful emotions, that surface for care-givers during this time.

About the Author

Lou Bacon began working as a direct-service volunteer for a Hospice organization in southern New Hampshire in 1994.  She has consistently greeted each individual that she was asked to support through their dying experience, with a gracious spirit and positive warmth that has allowed each patient to take full control of their dying process.  Lou has kept her focus on the needs of the individual, her own needs to promote positive care-giving, and has faithfully practiced the skills she has learned that would bring hope, love, respect and honor to the process of dying.

Lou teaches at the college level, practiced as a mental-health therapist, runs bereavement support-groups, personal empowerment workshops and is highly accomplished in the art of presenting soft-skills instruction.

Lou welcomes your insights into this process of caring for and loving people into their deaths, and can be reached at LJBacon@gmail.com.
