Before I was born, my family was all excited about having a new baby boy in the family. my mom and dad already had three girls.
My grandmother and grandfather were all excited when they heard the news of a baby boy.as the months rolled past, there was lots of planning and lots of excitement at my parents-to-be’s house.
My father was somewhat of a stubborn man. He was the only male in his family, except for his dad and one uncle who lived two states away. Altogether, there were about ten women to every one male. Of course, when the announcement was made that there would be another male added to the family, everyone was excitably (but patiently) waiting for the arrival of the new male.
Father bragged to his buddies about his son. He even took extra care of mother while she was carrying me (which was odd because he was not the type to be over-caring for anyone or anything).
Everyone saw the change in him. Although mother was glad, she just hoped it would last after the baby was born. Several years ago, after the birth of my second sister, my dad was very disappointed to learn that all of their children could be female.

Our Story Began in a small mid west town where family values still mean something, This book has very unique and readable qualities.
We find that our family of many females and very few males are at a cross road as far as caring on the family name. The youngest family already have three girls and are now looked upon to try for a boy.
Of course it want take much to convince the father due to his strong family values and loyalty to his father.
Mother has very little say in the matter being the loyal and submissive wife she is.
More surprises after the new baby arrives.
There are no names mention in this book other than Don/Dawn. There is Father, Mother, Grandfather, Sister, Doctor, Nurse, Child at school, Neighbors, and Grandmother who plays a very large roll in the lives of Don/Dawn and Mother.
The story is being narrated by Don/Dawn at the age of 18.
You will have to read the next volume to find out what happens next.
