About the Book

This book charts the rise and fall of one of the world''s top Life Assurance salesmen. Traumatic personal circumstances rendered him vulnerable to the advances of two corrupt senior VAT officials. The resultant massive VAT scam would see him pursued by Interpol, finally caught and locked up inside the notorious Pollsmoor prison in South Africa. After surviving early attacks on his life, he would overcome many other threats, including hunger and disease and emerge as an influential, central figure in the prison. Brutal warder attacks, near prison riots and daily prisoner killings, are all compelling ingredients of a book, which for the first time, exposes what really goes on, inside one of the world''s most terrifying prisons.

About the Author

Born in humble circumstances in Nottingham, he would leave school with minimal qualifications and started work as a telegram boy. He progressed to work in a wallpaper and paint shop, where he was spotted as possessing sales potential. Getting a foot in the door of Life Assurance sales, he then progressed quickly, to develop an acute sense of business acumen and selling ability, achieving membership of the Million Dollar Round Table and becoming a self made millionaire, all within a decade. A sequence of dramatic events, with devastating consequences, would see him end up incarcerated, in one of the world''s most dangerous prisons. His story is about a broken man''s will and determination to survive and to go on to uncover dramatic secrets, never previously exposed, of life inside the Cape''s Pollsmoor prison.
