One Haunted Halloween Night and the Three Little Strangers

It was a cool October morning in a small town named Samhain, located in upstate New York. Samhain is pronounced, “Sow-in.” The reason for such a peculiar name is because it’s believed that witches from all around the world gathered there every year. They say that the witches have been celebrating Samhain, also known as the Witches’ New Year or Feast of the Dead, in that very town for over three hundred years. The townspeople still believe to this very day, that Samhain is a very haunted place to live. On that morning, the air was so crisp that the tip of your nose would tingle with every deep breath you took. The leaves on the trees and the ground were many different shades of oranges, reds, and yellows. Every so often, a small breeze would come around and swirl all the fallen leaves into a circular motion, as if to sweep them up into the sky.

Matthew was a young boy who had recently moved from the big city to Samhain with his family. They had not yet learned of the town’s three-hundred-year history, or how it had gotten such a strange name. It was on that day that Matthew would find out that some things aren’t exactly what they seem, nor can they easily be explained. That particular October morning happened to be the thirty-first day of the month. The day of the month that, after the sun sets, anything bizarre and eerie can happen. It is a night when the darkness is darker than ever, and sounds seem to be ten times louder than they normally are. A night we know as Halloween night.
