About the Book

Best friends Libby Bays and Norma Singer are victims of Emmett Bays's abuse. Norma allows Libby to lure her into her father’s black Chevrolet sedan, and after dropping his daughter off at their Main Street home, he drives Norma to an abandoned salvage yard and rapes her.

Best friends suddenly become enemies. Norma, trusting no one, including her parents, to support and understand what happened to her, privately blames Libby. She seeks to avenge her role in the rape before she seeks to bring Emmett Bays to justice. To protect himself from any rape accusation, he seeds a rumor in Libby that one of Clarence Singer's Mexican workers raped Norma, and to get his daughter to help him spread it, Emmett promises Libby that he will stop molesting her.

Libby believes her father's lie. Norma wants revenge. Only that friendship that Emmett Bays destroys can save these teenagers from him.

About the Author

Michael Boyd lived most of his life in small Ohio towns and villages before he moved to Cincinnati, Ohio. He received his undergraduate degree from Findlay College, a small college in Findlay, Ohio.  After receiving a graduate degree from Xavier University, Michael continued to teach until he started his own business that he runs today in Cincinnati.

Michael always kept his love for small towns hidden in his heart during his adult years in Cincinnati. In his first book Libby he integrates his love for small towns with his ability to tell a fictional story and his research of his historical events. Michael has written another military story currently entitled The Vanquished Truce that he intends to publish. He fictionalizes the Russian takeover of Wittenberg, East Germany in 1945.

Having participated in high school and college athletics and music, he still pursues these interests, but he has added the hobby of flying kites to his pursuits. Michael says that flying kites makes him feel like a boy growing up in a small town in the fifties. Mr. Boyd can be reached at mjbauthor.agency@hughes.net.
