The After

The eyes of the sky awakened from a dark and stormy nightmare, which drenched the grounds of the earth with its tears. A small blue bird sung a melancholy tune as her small eyes shown big and sorrowful; she peered through the window of a modern day Palace. Noble and proud with plenty of pleasing personal touches, this modern day castle was Niles’s own Camelot. He loved stories of castles, princes, and knights, a fantasy that partly came true, for this charming little boy lived in a fortress. But today a malicious act of brutality against this precious soul marked the end of life and the beginning of eternal paradise. Upstairs lay Niles upon comfortable, deep blue carpet. The walls of the room are dainty and colorful. The iridescence of the room consumed the attention of all persons that entered, which was the joyful spirit of a child. Today sorrow filled the air; the colors on the walls appeared dark and gloomy merely grieving for the delicate soul who lay upon the carpeted floor in a pool of blood. His body felt numb and weightless in some places though torturous as a whole; the pain that he felt was like none other. He felt wet and loathsome all over. The gashes in his skin seared with pain as blood and white fluid trickled down from his head mixing with the blood that slowly dribble from his legs and thighs. He reeked of urine. Niles felt an emptiness like a part of him was missing, but what? He took his little blood soaked hand and touched what was left of his skull; miserable and in great suffering, disconsolate Niles thought to himself,

"Why daddy? Why? All I did was pee on myself. I can’t help it. I am sorry…"

As this thought manifested into emotion little Niles exploded into tears of pain, sadness and confusion. He felt that it was his entire fault. He didn’t know who it was that hurt him. Was it daddy or was it Rahazjeal? He laid on his side and curled into a ball. All he could do was suffer. No one was there to comfort him. His only comforts were his small arms he used to embrace himself. Tears raced out of his water puddles for eyes down his face and into his ear; his entire body grieved shaking uncontrollably. A weightless dizziness overcame Niles. He felt himself being lifted and he became light as a feather.

Niles felt strange. Suddenly he saw four spirits and his pain left, like it was simply sucked away. Niles immediately became silent; he had no idea what was happening. The spirits immediately tended unto him lovingly. The spirits were intelligent, bright, beautiful creatures, yet their touch was soft
