In his book, Al-Hizb Al-Hashmi Wa Tasis Al-Dawla Al-Islamyia (The Hashmite Party and The Foundation of the Islamic State), Sayyid Mahamoud al-Qimni[1] traces the origin of the Islamic religion to Abd Al-Mutalab, the grandfather of the Prophet Muhammad. “If God wants to establish a state, he creates men like these" said Abd Al-Mutalab while pointing his hand towards his sons” (al-Qimni 1996: 51). According to al-Qimni the idea of creating an Islamic state and religion goes back to the grandfather of the Prophet. Abd Al-Mutalab understood that the Arab tribes were impossible to be united into one kingdom because of a lack of tribal cohesion. In a kingdom, the ruling tribe would dominate other tribes and no tribe would accept that. For that reason the only way to unite the Arab tribes together was to have a King-Prophet to rule over them. Such a unity could not be resisted because it would be considered of divine origin. When he understood the problem, Abd Al-Mutalab borrowed the idea of the King-Prophet from the Jewish example of King David and his son, King Solomon. And so, he began his religion of Al-Hanafiya,[2] which he traced its origin to the ancestor of the Arabs, Ibrahim “or Abraham”.
Furthermore, in tracing the origin of the idea of the Islamic State, al-Qimni went beyond Abd Al-Mutalab to the great grandfather of Muhammad, Qusay Ibn Kilab. In pre-Islamic period many Arab tribes struggled to control the important city of

About the Book
It is very rare to find a book in the academic circles and public libraries that speaks about Muhammad of history. Most of the books today tell you about Muhammad of faith, the founder of Islam. In this book I am presenting Muhammad of history- his life, wars, and teachings. My accounts are based on the “Mothers of the Islamic Books,”[1] the writings of the Egyptian Muslim liberal thinker, Sayyid Mahmoud Al-Qimni, and the views of some modern Muslim and non-Muslim writers. What is written in the "Mothers of the Islamic Books" is called ??????? ??? "Al-Maskoot Anho" which means information that people- Muslims and non-Muslims - are not supposed to hear and know. Very few ''ulama "or Muslim Scholars" of al-Azhar al-Sharif University read these accounts and hardly speak about them even to one another. However, modern Egyptian Muslim writers such as Sayyid Mahmoud al-Qimni, Faraj Foda, and Nasr Hamid Abu Zayd endangered their lives by breaking the seals of these books and revealing to the public information about Muhammad that they have never heard before.
