About the Book

  

This is a story about a Special Forces soldier who would serve four tours in the country of Iraq, filling in the gaps where the news media left out. Follow the exploits of Sergeant Erick Nason as a member of a combat search and rescue team during Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm. Returning later after the war ended, he helped to provide humanitarian relief to the Kurdish refugees during Operation Provide Comfort. Following the attacks of September 11th, he would be part of Operation Iraqi Freedom, once more returning to northern Iraq to help in its liberation. His final tour would be served in Baghdad and Balad during Operation Iraqi Freedom II, participating in numerous convoy operations.


About the Author

  He was born in Glens Falls, New York where he enlisted in the Army, serving for twenty years in Army special operations units. First serving with the 2/75th Ranger Battalion, then with the 10th Special Forces group over in Germany and in the United States. Additionally, he was an instructor at the Special Warfare Center and School at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. While on active duty, not only did he serve in Iraq, but participated in numerous other deployments and contingency operations to include Bosnia, Kosovo, Honduras, Jordan, Gabon and Sierra Leon, Africa. Upon retiring from active duty, he is currently an instructor for the Joint Personnel Recovery Agency in Fredericksburg, Virginia.
